Company Introduction

CSBC Corporation, Taiwan, established in 1937, is the foremost and largest ship building company in Taiwan, with more than 670 vessels, including commercial, governmental and special ships, constructed to the standards of global mega-shipbuilders. In the 17 years between 1998 and 2014, we had a resounding success of 22 ship types and 194 ships nominated by the Significant Ships published by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA). In addition, we have been awarded “Ship of the Year” by the Taiwan Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers in honor of our accomplishment of 7 new ship designs and 55 ships constructed since 2004. Our excellent R&D team enables us to innovate and improve on an ongoing basis with great efforts going into product development projects, leading to a fruitful result of 12 patents granted as of December 2014.

Following the 2008 financial crisis, the shipbuilding industry has been facing an economic downturn that it has never seen before. In response, CSBC launched the “5-year advancement and improvement initiative” in 2013 in order to expand our business step-by-step and branch into the “Green Sea Market” (e.g. development of energy-efficient ship and offshore wind power) on our established basis of shipbuilding. We aim to kick-start yet another growth engine, reach the next peak in our operation, and realize the vision of “A Global Shipbuilding Group with Excellence”.
