Wy-14,643 reduces the expression and production of cytokines, adhesion molecules, inducible NO synthase, heme oxygenase-1, and cyclooxygenase-2. Wy-14,643 inhibits human aldose reductase activity and increased uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation in isolated mitochondria.
