Audi opens R & D centre for Asia in Beijing

German luxury carmaker Audi has opened a Research & Development (R & D) Center in Beijing, overseeing R & D work for the whole of Asia earlier this month.

 
According to the news released by Audi, the center is spread across an area of ​​8,000 sqm and houses aboratories, prototype and R & D workshops. The research and development teams at the center will be offer product customization including electronics and connectivity solutions for Asian customers.
 
And the R & D functions of the center include engine, body, electronics and battery development, a prototype workshop, vehicle test facilities and 3D development environments.
 
Audi has announced its goal to sell 700,000 vehicles in 2015. The manufacturer also plans to introduce its entire 42 model product line up to China by that time. China is now Audi's largest market.
