SOUTH-TEC 2015 to Address Manufacturing Trends

Dynamic agenda of activities and opportunities focus on helping companies improve manufacturing capabilities, develop tomorrow’s workforce

SOUTH-TEC, the Southeast region’s manufacturing industry showcase of innovation, knowledge sharing and relationship building, will address and discuss important and timely issues with manufacturing thought-leaders across industries. More than 400 exhibiting companies will showcase and demonstrate their latest advanced manufacturing technologies and processes. The event will offer activities that emphasize the importance of improving manufacturing capabilities, and provide companies with the knowledge necessary, including:

  • Educational sessions and workshops focused on immediate and long-term savings with design-to-cost and design-for-manufacturability best practices, machining and casting applications for significantly improved metal removal rates, and new standards for machine tool reliability.
  • Keynote presentations and panel discussions from leading companies including Wells Fargo, FANUC, Mastercam and Stratasys address: reshoring trends; advanced robotic vision and automation; process and system improvement via the Cloud and the Internet of Things; trends and advancements in additive manufacturing and 3D printing applications; and global economic conditions that impact U.S. Manufacturing and opportunities in the Southeast.
  • More than 130 product launches and 400 exhibits from industry-leading companies.
  • SME’s Bright Minds Program will continue to reinforce the value of manufacturing education through hands-on learning experiences for students with support from educators and industry representatives.

     

    WHO: Media can interview representatives from more than 400 exhibiting companies serving the aircraft/aerospace, automotive, commercial vehicle, energy and locomotive industries and SME leaders on-site to discuss manufacturing trends, economic impacts and employment opportunities in industry.
