ASIA’S LARGEST TRADE EXHIBITION ORGANISER UBM ASIA EXPANDS HEALTH AND BEAUTY INDUSTRY WITH INAUGURAL VIETBEAUTY 2016 TRADE SHOW

Pantheon of Leading Trade Exhibition Beauty Fairs to Accelerate Beauty Industry Growth in Vietnam

UBM Asia, Asia’s largest trade exhibition organiser and producers of ASEANbeauty, philbeauty, beautyexpo, and Asia Esthetic and Skincare Exposition (AES) announces the launch of its next fair in one of the fastest growing Southeast Asian markets - Vietnam - with vietbeauty 2016. Officially supported by the Ho Chi Minh City Cosmetics Association, the Vietnam Essential Oils, Aromatherapy and Cosmetics Association, and the Ho Chi Minh City Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, this premier international beauty trade show will take place from 18-20 August, 2016 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

With a population of more than 92 million, a steady GDP growth rate above 5 percent in the past few years together with impressive beauty market growth (the value of the cosmetics and personal care market grew from USD 349 million in 2009 to USD 730 million in 2013), Vietnam has been identified as one of the rising beauty target markets in ASEAN. Vietnam has also been cited as having the fastest-growing middle class in the Southeast Asian region, according to recent studies by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

Moreover, Vietnam is expected to continue its robust development in beauty and personal care over the next five years. Consumers, especially those living in urban areas, are showing a growing desire for more varied health and beauty products creating demand for more foreign imported and sophisticated products such as cosmetics, skincare, hair care and personal care products. Furthermore, increased consumption of beauty and health related products is on the rise in Vietnam’s rural districts.

Dr. Nguyen Van Minh, Vice-President of the Vietnam Essential Oils, Aromatherapy and Cosmetics Association and supporting partner of vietbeauty said, “Playing an active role in helping to develop the beauty industry in Vietnam, the Vietnam Essential Oils, Aromatherapy and Cosmetics Association is pleased to know that there will be an important trade show, vietbeauty, which will be held from 18-20 August, 2016 in Vietnam. This will be a unique opportunity for beauty suppliers to showcase their products and services to potential buyers, distributors as well as to bring together people from different countries especially in the Mekong Delta region, to create successful business connections regionally and globally in order to help advance the beauty industry in Vietnam".

"The Ho Chi Minh City Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery is delighted to support the vietbeauty exhibition. The aesthetic field has grown significantly in the past 10 years and the growth trends are expected to continue. Together with UBM, we plan to organise several aesthetic scientific conferences and workshops in order to bring new technologies and advanced knowledge in these fields to benefit aesthetic surgeons who visit the show. I believe this will also be an ideal opportunity to network and source new products for plastic and aesthetic surgery and the beauty industry as a whole”, said Prof. Le Hanh, MD, PhD, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Society of Plastic & Aesthetic Surgery.

"We chose to launch vietbeauty given the opportunity with the country’s current economic growth and want to deliver a higher quality and level of business for buyers and manufacturers beyond what they have ever experienced before. Visitors can expect to meet over 150 leading suppliers from 15 countries and regions in the areas of cosmetics, skincare, hair care, nail care, spa and wellness products to beauty salons and aesthetic equipment and supplies across the Asian region and from countries around the world. Moreover, the event expects to have the strong participation of leading brands providing full packaging, labeling and ingredient sourcing for beauty manufacturers as well as seminars and events to improve the aesthetician skills for locals”, said M. Gandhi, Managing Director, UBM Asia (ASEAN Business).

vietbeauty will take place at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre (SECC) from 18-20 August, 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
