COMPUTEX 2016 Leads the Technology Frontline InnoVEX the “Startup Village” Connects Global Entrepreneurs

COMPUTEX 2016, aiming to build the global technology ecosystems, is presenting a new exhibit InnoVEX, a “startup village”, for the first time at Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Exhibition Hall 3. At the press conference today, COMPUTEX organizer, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), invited Garage+, the Epoch Foundation's incubation project for global start-up companies; IDEAS Show, a regional startup facilitator founded by Institute for Information Industry; Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA); technology startups GMobi and Blocks, to attend the InnoVEX press conference and share insights on the future technology innovations in Taiwan.

The momentum and development of startups is critical in technology industries. Based on the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Index rankings launched by The Global Entrepreneurship and Development Institute (The GEDI Institute), Taiwan has taken 6th place internationally and 1st place in Asia. A high ranking reveals Taiwan’s global competitiveness and this year COMPUTEX TAIPEI is making the InnoVEX Exhibit a perfect platform for innovators to open a new chapter in the technology industry.

The all-new InnoVEX Exhibit at COMPUTEX 2016 will be joined by 170 innovative startups from 20+ countries such as Taiwan, Australia, United States, Japan, Korea, England, Italy, Indonesia, and Denmark. Among them, 50 companies coming from overseas are ready to showcase their innovative ideas. These exhibiting companies include 19 international award-winning technology pioneers such as CareMonkey, Connecterra, and Dronamics. There will be special exhibits by exhibitors such as iStaging, which will bring visitors into a dream world with their latest augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) inventions; Konolabs will showcase an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven personal assistant scheduler while Connecterra, savior of livestock, will present a Fitbit-like sensor to monitor cattle’s health, bringing a whole new look on life.

Exciting events are planned for InnoVEX. In addition to demos by global elite startups, 2 large stages, Center Stage and Pi Stage, will be set up for hot keynote topics regarding the startup ecosystem, successful stories of startup unicorns, Silicon Valley startup trends, virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), unmanned vehicles, and the latest topics with incisive analysis. Other than sharing the latest trends in innovations, more than 80 startup demos will be conducted while startup representatives from Korea, France, Demark, and Israel pavilions will also be sharing their valuable experience at the Pi Stage.

InnoVEX keynotes are just some of the highlights among the activities at the new Exhibit. Invited speakers come from internationally renowned venture capital firms and technology giants - 500 Startups, Acorn Pacific Ventures, Click Ventures, Fenox Venture, GGV, Hardware Club, Sparklabs Global Ventures, Startupbootcamp, startup unicorn Criteo and NYC Media Lab to share new industry trends and startup culture. Moreover, world viewers will be able to watch these keynote speeches live on Twitch regarding the analyses of global startup environment and future prospects of startup accelerators.

During the show, InnoVEX Pitch Contest with a winning prize of $30,000 USD, will be held allowing startups to pitch to the investors on the unlimited possibilities of their products or services. But the most important highlight of InnoVEX is match-making, where organizers of COMPUTEX have invited venture capital companies such as Acorn Ventures and Click Venture, crowdfunding platform FlyingV, startup accelerator 500 Startups and HWTreks to participate. Furthermore, many superior Taiwan manufacturers and distributors are also integrated under the “COMPUTEX Building Partnerships in the Technology Ecosystem” to maximize innovative, technological, and investment exchanges.
