Every year, Taipei INST showcases over 2,000 innovative new products and patented technologies.

Taipei INST 2014 comprises three major exhibition zones: the Domestic and Foreign Invention Area, Technomart Area, and Patented Merchandise Area. The planning for the Technomart Area has been undertaken by the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), with special exhibition areas arranged by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Council of Agriculture research institutes, and many other domestic and overseas industrial, academic and research organizations. In all, these special exhibition areas will be showcasing over 1,000 cutting-edge research achievements. The Domestic and Foreign Invention Area features products developed by local and foreign individual inventors, corporations and academic institutions that have been given a patent application number during the past four years, while the Patented Merchandise Area showcases inventions that have already been commercialized, enabling visitors to see for themselves the convenience that new inventions can bring to people’s daily lives. This year, on the third day of Taipei INST , September 20, there will be an awards ceremony at which gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded, as well as the Platinum Award that represents Taipei INST’s highest honor; these awards provide recognition and encouragement for the prize-winning inventors.

During the show, there will also be a number of supporting activities, including the opening ceremony, invention competition, awards ceremony, new product presentations, international technology procurement meetings, seminars, etc. Through an intensive, diversified program of exchange activities, inventors, innovators and investors will be brought together to create new business opportunities, thereby stimulating international technology exchange, patent and trademark licensing and other investment activities. As this year marks the tenth anniversary of the holding of the first Taipei INST, the organizers have organized a range of exciting celebratory activities, which both domestic and overseas participants are welcome to take part in.
