TIMTOS 2009 warms up for record breaker & first-time show at NANGANG Exhibition Hall
Taipei, Taiwan Dec. 9, 2009 – TIMTOS is getting set for a whole new slate of firsts. It will be the first time this event (Taipei Int’l Machine Tool Show) takes place at the newly built NANGANG Exhibition Hall and the first time so many exhibitors and visitors have taken part.
This event which is jointly organized by TAITRA (the Taiwan External Trade Development Council) and TAMI (the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry) unfolds from March 2 to March 7 across the TWTC (Halls 1, 2 and 3), and its newly opened NANGANG Exhibition Hall.
TIMTOS stands out from the rest in that it has consistently attracted a growing following of international exhibitors and visitors each time this biennial event is held. TIMTOS 2007, for example, hosted 713 international and domestic exhibitors who used 2,778 booths, and TIMTOS 2009 is expected to attract around 850 exhibitors to use 4,800 booths. That adds up to growths of 20% and 73%, respectively, which will make the coming show the largest in TIMTOS history.
With the synergy of cluster effect lending the advantage of rapid assemblage and easy access to parts, Taiwan’s machine tool industry is noted for its flexible manufacturing capability and responsiveness in catering to client needs with quality products of good value, and has always been highly rated by international and local buyers.
From January to September of 2008, Taiwan’s machine tool exports reached USD 2.91 billion, a growth of 15.6% year-on-year. For the whole year, the estimated machine tool output value is USD5.25 billion, which would give Taiwan a ranking behind Germany, Japan, China and Italy as a major machine tool producer, and the only one without the backing of a powerful automotive industry.
In 2007, Taiwan led the world in the production of vertical-spindle and bridge-type machining centers, and it has since flexibly adapted this strength to retool itself as a globally important rapid supplier hub with the capacity to handle ODM and OEM orders from such developed countries as Germany, the U.S. and Japan.
As Asia’s machine tools have gone global, so has TIMTOS which has increasingly internationalized (at 20%), with the participation of as many as 15 countries, including Germany, Italy, Japan, Great Britain, Korea, India, Switzerland, Israel, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Czech Republic, Turkey and Taiwan.
And this global stage has attracted the participation of all the leading domestic manufacturers such as HARTFORD, VICTOR/FORTUNE, YCM, TONGTAI, QUASER, AWEA, CHEVALIER, CHMER, KENT, DAH LIH, SUPERTEC, SEYI, CHIN FONG, JENG JIH, SPC, INGYU, FORWELL, TAILIFT, SHIN WU, C-DOUBLE, HIWIN, FEDEK, AUTO STRONG, GOLDEN SUN, KEYARROW, GIFU, and HABOR. Leading international manufacturers like OKUMA, MAZAK, DMG, YASDA, JTEKT, TOYODA, TOYO, SODICK, TORNOS, MITSUBISHI, TRUMPF, KUKA, FANUC, SIEMENS HEIDENHAIN, SONY and BOSCH have also joined the fair, covering every facet of machine tools.
TWTC Hall 1 chiefly exhibits CAD/CAM systems and software, components, parts, tools, cutters, measuring equipments, tube, wire and plate processing machines, welding and cutting equipments, and industrial robots.
TWTC Hall 2 parades the best in forming equipment like presses, shearing and folding machines, and foundry and forging equipments.
TWTC Hall 3 stages parts and components, accessories, tools, cutting tools and chucks and clamping systems.
NANGANG Exhibition Hall displays cutting machine tools and for the Swiss Pavilion which includes 85 booths – a record-size country pavilion for TIMTOS!
Super Show with a World of Possibilities!
TIMTOS 2009 will represent the 14th cycle for this flagship event that displays the entire supply chain before a projected 4,500 international visitors and 31,000 local industry members.
