Air Shield Dam (Pneumatic Steel Shield Gate) - Reliable Water-Retaining and Flood-Control Solution
Our air shield dam is a modern water-retaining structure that combines a steel shield panel with an airbag drive system. The shield panels are hinged to a concrete foundation, and high-strength airbags beneath them are inflated or deflated to raise or lower the panels. When inflated, the shield rotates upward to hold back water and raise the upstream level. When deflated, the shield lies flat on the base slab and lets flood water pass freely.
Key Features:
Protected airbags: The airbags sit beneath the shield panel, shielded from sunlight, floating debris, and ice, which extends service life
Reliable structure: Rigid steel shield panels provide stable water retention and strong resistance to wind, waves, and water pressure
Adjustable dam height: Inflate or deflate to precisely control the upstream water level
Fast, flexible operation: Quick raising and lowering, with manual, remote, or automatic control available
Suitable for wide spans: Can be built in long, continuous sections to fit different river and canal widths
Low maintenance: No heavy hoisting equipment or complex mechanical parts needed
Strong flood discharge: Lies flat when lowered, leaving the channel unobstructed
Applications:
Irrigation and water conservancy projects, hydropower stations, flood control, river and urban landscape water features, water storage and diversion, tidal barriers, and seawater intrusion prevention.
