Air-shield Dam combines the advantages of both rubber dams and steel gates, offering a rigid-flexible composite structure. It mainly consists of a steel shield plate, an inflatable air bag, embedded anchor bolts, rubber water stops, and a control system. The shield plate is made of carbon steel, stainless steel or other materials, while the air bag is made of fabric-reinforced EPDM rubber, offering excellent strength and weather resistance.
The control system inflates the air bag, causing it to expand and support the shield plate as it rises to retain water. When water discharge, sediment removal or debris clearing is required, the compressed air inside the bag is released, allowing the shield plate to collapse quickly. Since the air bag rests beneath the shield plate, it is well protected from damage caused by sand, gravel or ice.
Key Features:
Fast raising/lowering within 5-15 minutes, strong flood response
Strong impact resistance, steel shield plate protects the rubber air bag underneath
Good winter adaptability, adjustable air pressure or optional electric heating anti-freeze system
Low maintenance cost, service life of up to 30 years or more
Modular design, easy transportation and on-site assembly
High level of automation, supporting PLC control, remote monitoring and water-level linkage
Multiple safety protections including pressure control, angle control and leak alarm systems
Applications:
River water retention and irrigation storage
Flood control and drainage, regional water conservancy hub management
Sediment removal, debris clearing and river channel dredging projects
Tailwater regulation for power stations and generation efficiency optimization
